Utility and energy schemes: power, fuel, and clean cooking
These schemes lower the everyday cost of energy and basic utilities for households. They include free or subsidised LPG connections under PM Ujjwala Yojana, rooftop-solar subsidies and up to 300 free units of electricity under PM Surya Ghar, and electrification and clean-cooking programmes that especially help rural and low-income families.
Energy schemes can pay back twice — once through the upfront subsidy and again through lower monthly bills for years afterwards.
