Benefits

Beneficiaries receive a one-time subsidy of ₹1600 for an LPG connection, which includes a free stove and the first refill of gas.

How to apply

Applications can be submitted online through the official website of the scheme.

Visit the official PMUY website.
Select the oil company (Indane, Bharatgas, or HP Gas).
Choose the type of connection as Ujjwala 2.0 New Connection.
Fill in the required details including state, district, and distributor name.
Enter your mobile number and complete the captcha and OTP verification.
Select your migrant family status and fill in the necessary family and personal details.
Submit the application and generate a reference number to visit the gas agency.

Common problems and how to fix them

Problem	What to do
You already have an LPG connection	The household is not eligible — PMUY is only for homes without any existing LPG connection.
KYC or name mismatch	Make sure the applicant’s name matches her Aadhaar exactly, and correct any mismatch with the LPG distributor.
Refills feel too expensive	Eligible PMUY beneficiaries receive a targeted subsidy on refills — confirm your subsidy status with the distributor.
Connection delayed	Follow up with your Indane, HP Gas or Bharat Gas distributor, or call the Ujjwala helpline.
